Osteoporosis is a metabolic bone disease that results in decreased bone density or softening of the bones. It is the leading cause of bone fractures in older adults. This number is expected to increase as the population continues to age. It affects both men and women. There are many causative factors to Osteoporosis however; there are many treatments for osteoporosis as well.
